Bereavement Support

Bereavement support helps employees deal with the short and long-term effects of a significant loss, such as the death of a co-worker or any other significant loss within the workplace. Appropriate, timely intervention demonstrates your support, helps employees feel valued and may decrease the likelihood of work-related problems.

HelpPeople counselors may schedule a time to be onsite to meet with your affected team individually or in a group session. The Clinical Supervisor or Manager will guide you through choosing the appropriate intervention once you have reached out either by phone or email.  HelpPeople understands that as a leader you may be affected by the loss as well.  When you contact HelpPeople, an empathic clinician will be there for you.  Assistance can be provided to anyone employed within the organization.  See employee handouts under Management Materials.

Contact HelpPeople EAP as soon as possible after learning of the loss. Supportive assistance will be provided as we determine your needs and arrange for an intervention.
